Professional Community Management’s Julia Wilkinson and Jo Ellen Madden Recognized for Outstanding Achievement by United Way
Award Caps Twenty Years of Fund Raising

LAKE FOREST, Calif., Oct. 19, 2004 — Professional Community Management (PCM), one of the nation’s largest companies providing community management services to homeowner associations (HOAs), announced today that its employees, Julia Wilkinson and Jo Ellen Madden were selected by the United Way as Employee Campaign Manager(s) of the Year for 2003-2004. The women were recently recognized at the Orange County United Way 2004-2005 kick off event.

"I am extremely proud of the work that our volunteers and staff do every day," said Maria Chavez Wilcox, Orange County United Way President. "What we stand for is people. We have to care. If we don't help, who will?"

Wilkinson and Madden exemplify people who care. Together they have greater than 30 years of service as employee campaign managers for the United Way. Every year they head fund raising efforts at PCM, organizing various committees and events, encouraging employee and corporate contributions and educating employees on the many ways the United Way assists individuals. PCM employees in Orange County, Riverside and San Diego participate in United Way campaigns and raised more than $47,000 during the 2003-2004 campaign year. Wilkinson and Madden hope to beat that record in the next twelve months and are now in the process of launching PCM’s corporate fund raising effort for the 2004-2005 campaign year.

“Our company philosophy has always been to give back to the communities we serve,” said Russ Disbro, CEO. “We are so fortunate to have both Julia and Jo Ellen spearheading our campaign efforts. Their efforts are significant and it is exciting to know that we can assist the United Way in its efforts to reach those in need within our local communities.”

“The United Way does so many things for so many people that most of us don’t realize the full extent of their efforts,” said Wilkinson. “I always tell employees that it is not how much you give that matters, because when all the gifts are combined our contribution will grow.”

In addition to the United Way, PCM is active in fundraising for a number of local non-profit organizations including the American Red Cross, Orangewood Children’s Home and Toys for Tots. Wilkinson and Madden also head these annual efforts.

Julia Wilkinson is employed by PCM as the executive assistant to the company’s co-CEOs, Russ Disbro and Jeff Olsen. She has been with the company for more than 20 years, joining in 1981. Wilkinson, age 74 years, is a resident of Lake Forest, Calif.

Jo Ellen Madden has worked at PCM’s Leisure World®, Laguna Woods location for ten years and currently serves there as its employee programs and training representative. Madden is a resident of Laguna Niguel, Calif.
