LAKE FOREST, Calif. (Aug. 1, 2007)—Three employees of Professional Community Management of California, Inc. were honored by the California Association of Community Managers (CACM) at the Vision Awards banquet on Thursday, July 27. Chief Operating Officer Debbie Evans received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has significantly contributed to the overall success of CACM and its goals, and served in a visible leadership role. With 16 years of commitment to the community management industry, Debbie Evans inspires the organization and her employees.
As a CACM faculty member Debbie Evans has held several positions in the organization, such as Vice Chair of the Annual Expo, Chair of Legal Advisory Committee and Vice Chair and Chair of CACM. She has been instrumental in the growth of the industry and the overall corporate growth of Professional Community Management of California, in addition to portfolio and on-site management. She is dedicated to promoting industry professionalism and the CACM credential. All managers at Professional Community Management of California are certified by CACM.
"She has greatly contributed to the enterprise of community association management through her belief in herself," said Karen Conlon, president of CACM. "With the betterment of the industry being the primary motivation of her success, her commitment to our industry and to CACM has truly been an inspiration for me."
Two other employees of Professional Community Management of California were also presented with Vision Awards.
General Manager Tim Peckham received the President's Award. In order to improve communication and interaction between homeowners, Peckham developed a volunteer-driven program that supports Marines in Iraq. The association adopted troop Marine HQ Company Regimental Combat Team 5 in Fallujah, Iraq, led by Commanding Officer Captain Jason Freeby.
Peckham helped the association to strengthen its sense of community and spirit of cooperation by raising $23,000 worth in donations and sending 2,600 lbs of goods to soldiers in Iraq. Peckham was also honored in 2006 with the Vision Award for Leadership in Creative Solutions for Problem Solving.
"The caring actions initiated by community managers for association clients reach far beyond profits," said Conlon. "Tim cared enough to lead a community through change that created a solid foundation for the future."
Community Manager Sue Evans received the Vision Award for Environmental Management. She assisted in the removal of excess paint cans, which is considered hazardous material, by donating the paint to Habit for Humanity, rather than paying costly disposal fees. Sue Evans' efforts saved the association a significant amount of money and made a charitable donation to a local organization.
"Both Tim and Sue have exemplified the creative thinking and quality of service that PCM strives to offer," said Donny Disbro, vice president of marketing and business development of Professional Community Management of California. "We are committed to providing the highest standard of service to each of our communities."
