Professional Community Management of California, Inc.
managers receive accreditation

PCM continues to be a leader of industry practices

LAKE FOREST, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2007)—Professional Community Management of California, Inc., one of the nation's largest managers of homeowner associations, today announced that nine of its community managers have been awarded the distinguished industry credential of Certified Community Association Manager.

Sue Evans, Janet Fitzpatrick, Nick Mokhlessin, Dee Dee Stephens, Linda Stouffer, Wendy Bucknum, Jayson Benanti, Eron Kaylor and Doug Ward were awarded their credentials from the California Association of Community Managers, an association that promotes education, industry standards and professionalism of community managers.

"At Professional Community Management of California, each of our managers must hold this certification or be actively working toward earning it," Donny Disbro, vice president of business development and marketing for Professional Community Management of California, said.

In order to receive the CCAM credential, managers must complete a two-day course on the basics of association management, a two-day course on California law for California community associations and a half-day course on ethics. Each course has a final exam, which must be completed with a score of at least 70 percent.

"We believe that providing this level of education to our managers, gives us a competitive advantage in our market place. By ensuring that each of our managers is certified, we are able to provide our clients with the highest level of professional management possible," said Disbro.

The courses consist of training in areas such as budget preparation, contract negotiation and administration, supervising association staff members, managing association maintenance programs and acting as a liaison to homeowners.

Once the certification is received, it is valid for three years. Each association manager must also complete at least 30 hours of continued education each year, to keep their credentials current.
