As a new board member, Bucknum will be responsible for ensuring that CAI continues to meet its goal of educating its members on industry standards and best practices. The board will also oversee the direction of the chapter, have oversight of all 12 sub-committees and be responsible for the chapter's financial well-being.

She was elected to the position by the chapter's general membership, which consists of more than 900 members. She will serve a standard three-year term on the board.
"This chapter has been active for 30 years and I am proud to have the opportunity to serve as one of its board members," said Bucknum. "I look forward to being able to share my knowledge and experience with my colleagues and to help CAI continue its tradition of educating its members."
Bucknum serves as the Governmental and Public Affairs Manager at Laguna Woods Village, an active adult community in the city of Laguna Woods. She holds the Certified Manager of Community Associations and Certified Community Association Manager designations and is in the process of obtaining her Association Management Specialist certification.
