Federal and State Labor Law Compliance: PCM’s HR professionals
are constantly trained to be up-to-date on all current labor laws
such as Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regulations, Fair
Labor and Standards Act, California Labor Code Title VII, laws
governing Sexual Harassment, Americans with Disabilities Act, and
Equal Pay Act.
California Occupational Safety and Health Agency (CAL-OSHA)
Compliance:
In addition to state labor laws, PCM keeps track of all safety
regulations and helps assure compliance through programs such as
Injury and Illness Prevention Program, Hazard Communication Program,
Ergonomics Program, Personal & Protective Equipment Program,
OSHA Inspection Response, & all work specific regulations based
on the jobs being performed at the location.
Workers' Compensation Compliance and Reporting: Worker’s
compensation issues change frequently and require careful adherence.
PCM has worker’s comp specialists that can completely and
effectively manage the program for you. Annual safety inspections
are performed by our VP of Human Resources & Risk Management
Specialist. Claims management of injuries is performed by both
our Human Resources department & insurance carrier. We also
provide a “Return to Work Program” to help injured
employees get back to work as soon as possible.
Employee Recruiting Assistance: Getting the right employees
in the first place solves a myriad of issues down the road. Our
HR
professionals are highly skilled at helping you find, screen and
hire exactly the people you are looking for. From writing & placement
of recruiting ads in order to ensure compliance with EEOC guidelines
to posting them on the Internet, we’ll get the job done.
We even provide pre-employment testing that includes drug testing
and background checks to help ensure a safe environment for our
clients and employees. In addition, we can assist in interviewing
and testing applicants.
Employee & Supervisor Orientation and Training: Once you have
the right people, it’s essential to give them the proper
training to help them quickly become successful. General training
programs that include; Safety, Customer Service, Accounting, Computer
Software, Sexual Harassment, & New Supervisor training. General
Manager specific training in Risk Management, Sexual Harassment,
Complaint Procedures, Budgets, Vendor Contracts, etc. is provided
at quarterly On-site General Manager meetings & special training
sessions. Both in-house staff & outside consultants are used
for this training.
Wage and Salary Administration: PCM can provide accurate
and up-to-date job descriptions to ensure proper placement within
the
salary range established for the position. We can also help you
institute a Pay Program that ensures all employees are paid based
on their skills and abilities in addition to where their position
falls within their county specific wage base.
Payroll
PCM provides full-service payroll services.
Our human resources department has the systems and procedures necessary
to assure precise
legal and tax compliance.
Semi-monthly and Bi-weekly Payroll Processing: PCM can manage
all time card calculations including verification of hours and
overtime calculations. Processing of checks is handled exactly
according to your requirements along with related management reports.
These reports provide the necessary information to help you manage
your employees’ time, including sick and vacation tracking
State and Federal Tax Compliance & Filing: Our systems ensure
proper taxing of wages, including garnishment & child support
order compliance. All tax payments are filed using Electronic
Fund Transfer (EFT). We can also assist in the identification
of Independent Contractor vs. Employee status. Quarterly & year
end tax reports are provided to give you an accurate view of
all wage and tax activity.
State and Federal Wage and Hour Law Compliance: It’s critical
to administer policies & practices to ensure compliance in
areas such as overtime calculations, breaks & mealtime requirements,
deductions from paychecks, mandatory leave time, exempt vs. non-exempt,
and equal pay. PCM has the expertise to efficiently, and accurately
manage and track these activities.
Employee Benefits
The proper management of employee benefits including
